Q&A Corporate Event Photography

Do you have experience with corporate events similar to mine?

We have 20 years of experience in corporate photography, working with clients ranging from small startups to global conferences.

What’s your approach to capturing candid versus posed shots?

Our approach is a warm blend of candid moments and intentional portraits—capturing both energy and professionalism.

How do you handle lighting or low-light situations?

I adapt lighting to each venue—using natural light whenever possible and adding flash subtly to enhance each shot.

What’s the turnaround time for receiving the final images?

You can expect the final images in 3-5 days—delivered in a private online gallery that you can access for up to six (6) months.

Can you provide images quickly for Linkedin headshots ?

Yes, we can always provide a select amount of images, either the same day or following morning for posting on social media. Most of the time, there’s no extra charge.

Can you provide references or a portfolio of past corporate work?

Most of our current work is on our website. We can provide additional images that may be more relevant to your event for further evaluation.

Is travel or venue fee included, or is that separate?

Generally, fees include destination charges for events in Montreal. There may be additional fees for events outside the greater Montreal area.

What exactly will I receive in terms of file formats (digital, print, etc.)?

You’ll receive all images in high-res JPEG.

How do you ensure you represent our brand or event identity in the photos?

I make sure each image reflects your brand’s essence—using colours, logos, and the mood you envision.

How does the delivery and archiving process work—will I be able to access them easily or download from a gallery?

After the event, I create a secure gallery, and you’ll have easy access to download whenever you wish for up to 6 months.

Who owns the copyright to the photos, and what are the usage rights?

Although the studio holds the creative ownership of the photos, you have full rights to use them however you’d like for your business. Basically, you can share them, print them, and use them anywhere you need, no extra steps!"

FAQ

Q&A for Portraits

Do I have to come to a studio or do you come to me ?

We travel to your location or office. Our business model is structured to be exclusively mobile We generally require a space similar to a small meeting room (10’x14’) This is a valuable advantage as you won’t lose time from your work schedule. You will avoid having to plan, look for parking or worry about traffic. You're free to continue working while we set up. After your session, we pack up. Simple and easy ! For individual sessions, it is possible to set up at your home office.

What is the process of having our company portraits taken ?

First, we will determine the type of headshots you require (background/office environment etc). This can be decided with a complimentary onsite visit. We usually set up in a meeting room or a similar space 60 minutes prior to set up. Once everyone's photos are taken, we will tear down our equipment and place everything back.

How long does it take for our employees to be photographed?

When taking portraits of employees, it usually takes about 5-7 minutes per person. We can also bring an external monitor for individuals to choose their own photos, thereby eliminating the need for administrators having to manage the choices for all the employees. It is important to note that this process will prolong each session and as such we recommend scheduling employees 10 minutes apart.

What is the process/delay after you have taken the photos?

After the photoshoot, an online proof gallery will be sent to you usually within 3 business days or less (Sooner for high priority requests) Generally before this stage, the company has decided whether or not to have the photos retouched. When no retouching is required, you may download all the images. If retouching is requested, the choice of final images are left up to management to be given to us for further processing. Retouching images can take up to 5 days, depending on quantity. (Sooner for rush requests)

Do you retouch your photos?

Retouching is an additional option that is available with any of our packages. Prices are quite reasonable and bring significant value to your images. We take great care in using a delicate approach so that the retouching is seamless. We can soften wrinkles, eliminate blemishes, lighten dark under eyes, and whiten teeth, etc. If you come to work with an unexpected spot or blemish, don’t worry we can take care of it.

What are your rates for corporate photography in Montreal?

Company rates start $450 (including destination set-up) for up to 2 hours. Retouching rates depends on the amount of employees (If requested) Since you have already made the investment in the time and effort of having your photo taken, we highly recommend having your professional headshot retouched either by Studio 55, website administrator, or with one of your internal experts.

I’m not photogenic and feel awkward when being photographed. How do you take good corporate headshots?

We use proven lighting & posing techniques that bring out your best features. Many of our clients don’t have experience in getting professionally photographed but our priority is that you feel comfortable and confident. You will be guided throughout the session.

What should I wear for corporate photos?

For a professional business headshot, it's advisable to refrain from wearing exclusively white clothing. While wearing a white or light coloured blouse or shirt is acceptable, it's preferable to pair it with a jacket or another complementary item. Medium blues, medium greys & earth tones tend to work well, and in certain situations, an all-black outfit may be suitable, depending on the desired company image. It's best to avoid clothing with large stripes or square patterns, as well as overly bright colours. When it comes to jewelry, a discreet approach is generally recommended. However, in artistic environments, bolder jewelry choices can be appealing and eye-catching. To enhance your professional look, consider subtle accessories such as brooches, light scarves, interesting necklace or pocket squares. These additions can add an extra touch of elegance and distinction to your headshot. If you have a beard, trim it and/or shave the same day as the photo shoot.

Do you provide make-up /hairdresser services?

We don’t typically require the use of hair & make-up services, however, we can book, facilitate & collaborate with these companies on your behalf for a seamless experience.
